How to make whole wheat chocolate chip cookies
Step 1: whisk together the dry ingredients: whole wheat flour, salt, and baking soda.
Step 2: Cream together the cane sugar, brown sugar, softened butter, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
Add the eggs and beat well.
Step 3: Add the dry ingredients slowly to the batter, until combined. Fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips.
Step 4: Drop by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet, then bake at 350 degrees for around 12 – 15 minutes.
Allow cookies to cool, then store leftovers in an airtight container and enjoy within 2 – 3 days.

What a healthy and delicious recipe! I made a double batch with each batch a separate recipe. Since I was making so many "cookies" I cheated and made the full recipe as a tray and cut into bars. They turned out wonderfully crisp on the top and bottom surfaces and chewy in the interior. Just love the recipe.Thank you so much.
