Baked Cinnamon Apples

Baked cinnamon apples are the best fall dessert! Serve these apples in caramelized sauce with vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs granny smith apples 5 or 6 large
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  • Peel and thinly slice the apples. Place the apples in the bottom of a greased 9 by 13 baking dish
  • Add the brown sugar, corn starch, cinnamon, and lemon juice and stir to mix it together with the apples
  • Top the cinnamon apples with the butter, cut into half tablespoon sized pieces
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the baked cinnamon apples are browned and bubbly
  • Serve hot topped with vanilla ice cream
