How to make a gin rickey recipe – the classic favorite drink made with just four ingredients! You can’t go wrong with this delicious drink.
Gin is one of my favorite things to drink.
After discovering my love for gin and tonics, and my watermelon gin slushies, I was hooked.
Today I’m sharing a recipe for one of my favorite healthy alcoholic drinks – the gin rickey.
Fun story behind this is that in my attempts to make a healthier gin and tonic recipe (without tonic water), I essentially made my drinks exactly like the classic gin rickey, before I even knew it existed!
Gin rickey is one of my favorite drinks because it has all of the things I love: seltzer water for the fizz, gin, and refreshing lime juice.
You definitely need to use fresh lime juice for this recipe, the lime juice is a big part of what makes this drink so delicious!
Ingredients to make gin rickey
- seltzer water
- lime juice
- maple syrup (optional)
All you need is just five ingredients to make this easy drink.
how to make a gin rickey
- Add gin, seltzer water, and lime juice to a highball glass
- If adding sweetener, stir it in to combine
- Add ice and serve
Do you sweeten a gin rickey?
Gin rickey is classically made with little to no sweetener.
For me personally, a little bit of sweet really makes that lime juice pop.
I’m all about healthier sweeteners, so my favorite to use is pure maple syrup.
All you need is just a tablespoon or two if you decide to add it.
This was so refreshing and currently my drink of choice.
Perfect refreshing summer drink!
