About Joy

Hi – My name is Joy Shull and I am the writer, recipe creator, and photographer at Build Your Bite®. I began this website in 2014, and it is now my full-time job.

Build Your Bite® recipes have been featured in numerous publications including Buzzfeed, Country Living, Well + Good, and more.

After almost a decade of experience being a vegetarian, I still love to create, test, and share recipes that not just vegetarians, but anyone can enjoy!

On Build Your Bite® you can find recipes that will appeal to eaters of all kinds. You do not have to be vegetarian or vegan to enjoy these recipes!

Here you will find a healthy mix of lightened up recipes, as well as classic favorites and must have comfort foods.

My 3 ingredient stir fry sauce is a staple around here, and I make just about every stir fry recipe with it.

My semi retired husband works afternoons. So getting him a good lunch with minimal time that is healthy, good and eye appealing is great. We are not vegetarians but some healthy alternatives like cauliflower rice will work great. I am on a losing weight journey so this is great for both of us. It is a win, win. Thank you Joy.
