Iced lattes at home are so easy to make!

Whenever I order a coffee out, it’s always a latte. It’s my favorite coffee drink! I don’t know about you, but I found myself getting hooked on that espresso taste and found myself spending way too much money buying coffee out. Espresso just hits different than iced coffee for me. I love the bold rich flavor and the creaminess that the milk adds.

When I first purchased my Nespresso machine, I started to experiment with making my own lattes at home. I figured out the perfect ratio of sweetener to milk and got it down to a science. Now I make a hot latte in the morning and an iced one in the afternoon and they come out perfect every time!

What you need to make it

  • Espresso: you need two shots of espresso for to make an iced latte.
  • Milk: any kind of milk you like! Our favorites are oat milk and soy milk.
  • Syrup: The sweetener in this recipe. We’re using vanilla for a basic vanilla iced latte, but you can mix it up and use any flavor you like.
oatmilk, espresso, and vanilla syrup

How to make an iced latte at home

  1. Pour your milk into a glass filled with ice
  2. Add the vanilla syrup
  3. Brew two shots of espresso
  4. Pour the espresso over the milk and swirl to combine

What kind of milk to use

You can use any kind of milk in this recipe. Whole milk, soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk, 2% milk, or oat milk. My personal favorite is oat milk because it makes the coffee so creamy. I have found my favorite daily blend is a mix of unsweetened soy milk and extra creamy oat milk.

Recipe Variations

  • change the flavor: try different coffee syrups like hazelnut, caramel, or butter pecan, etc.
  • make it a brown sugar oat milk iced latte: switch out the syrup for two tablespoons of brown sugar instead. Brew the espresso over the brown sugar to help it dissolve. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top of your drink to top it off!
  • make it stronger: like your coffee even bolder? Try brewing 3 shots of espresso, or run one of your shots through twice.
  • garnish: add cold foam or whipped cream on top
