Cool and refreshing – this nutrient packed berry beet smoothie is a delicious drink!
Give beets a try with this easy smoothie recipe.
When you think breakfast smoothie, you probably aren’t thinking “beets.”
Well my mission today is to change that!
This berry beet smoothie is packed full of ingredients to love and nourish your body, and it tastes so good!
Beets get a bad rap for tasting too “earthy” at times, but I did not even taste them in this recipe.
My favorite part of beets is the beautiful pink color that they give!
Ingredients to make a beet smoothie
- 1 small beet
- mixed frozen berries
- greek yogurt
- 1 granny smith apple
- almond milk (or milk of choice)
You will taste the frozen mixed berries more than anything in this beet smoothie, which is never a bad thing!
Frozen blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries blend together with the beet and apple for a delicious fruity taste.
Reasons to add more beets into your life
Beets are a powerhouse of nutrients.
Not only are beets believed to be helpful in keeping blood pressure in check, but they are also believed to help improve athletic performance, reduce inflammation in the body, improve digestive health, and more!
They are high in nutrients like vitamin c, fiber, folate, and low in calories.
I am loving my body by giving it more beets as I fight inflammation from my auto immune disease.

When they taste as good as in this smoothie recipe, it is not hard to make these a new favorite in my kitchen!
It’s important to be noted that you will need a high speed blender for this recipe.
Raw beets can easily be made smooth as long as your blender is a vitamix, blendtec, or equivalent.
If you do not have one of these blenders for this beet smoothie, you might want to steam and chill your beets first before blending them.
