How to make kale juice
Step 1: Wash and prepare your fruits and vegetables. Apples should be cored and sliced to fit into the juicing chute. I have found that lemon peel is very strong, so I peel my lemon before juicing it. Same thing with the orange peels.
Peeling your cucumber is optional, but I have found that my juicer handles it better without the skin on and produces a smoother juice. The kale should be washed, and I choose to remove the stems before running them through the juicer. This is optional, but I have found that my juicer handles it better when I do this.
Step 2: Run all ingredients through a juicer and serve immediately or store for later.
This juice is full of bright citrus flavor and naturally sweetened by the apple and orange. It is absolutely delicious and a great juice for anyone who is new to making their own green juice at home!
Kale Juice FAQs
This kale juice recipe will yield around 20 oz of juice.
Can you juice kale stems?
While you can juice kale stems, some juicers may have a harder time processing them. I recommend removing the leaves from the stems before juicing.
While you can juice just kale by itself, I wouldn’t recommend it as it may be bitter. The other ingredients is what gives this juice a milder and lightly sweet flavor.
How to store fresh juice
It is best to consume juice while fresh if you can, but I often will store leftovers in the refrigerator for the next day.
Leftover kale juice can be stored in a glass or jar with an airtight lid for 24 hours in the refrigerator. I keep 4 oz, 8 oz, and 16 oz glass jars with lids on hand for storing leftover juice. Fill it to the brim before putting the lid on for best freshness.
When you are ready to drink the juice, shake the jar well before opening as the juice will separate naturally.
