The full recipe and instructions can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here are the ingredients that you will need.

Ingredient Notes

  • mayo: regular mayonnaise
  • bbq sauce: regular bbq sauce, not spicy
  • mustard: plain mustard
  • honey: just a little bit to sweeten
sauce in a white ramekin with fries in a bowl and a whisk

Recipe Tip

I have found that using a whisk results in the perfect creaminess and lets the mayo combine completely into the sauce. Sometimes a spoon won’t be able to mix it quite as well. Just whisk together the mayo, mustard, bbq sauce, and honey in a bowl and serve!

It’s really that easy. No fancy ingredients. Probably all stuff that you already have on hand!

  1. It tastes just like it! Thank you! My son loves chick fil a sauce so this is a great recipe to have on hand!

  2. I made this , but the sauce was way darker then any of the copy cat recipes . I used exactly as called for . Only thing the BBQ sauce was Baby Rays Honey . I don’t understand why it’s so dark in color . Opened the honey , mustard and BBQ sauce fresh . I am clueless . Taste good , but I wouldn’t say exactly like theirs .

  3. I just made some I changed it a little bit and used what I had on hand. I used a honey mustard dressing Mayo Dijon misted yellow mustard smoky bbq sauce and a sprinkle of sugar. It tastes just like it.

  4. Made it for the first time tonight. It’s spot on to Chick-Fil-A sauce!!! Thank you 🙂

  5. Oh my goodness, I am in heaven! I love Chick-Fil-A sauce, but the nearest Chick-Fil-A restaurant is an hour away. This recipe was super easy to make, I did add a dash or two of cayenne pepper because I like a little kick to my sauce. Had it last night with chicken tenders and dipping fish into it tonight. Will be making more for sure.

  6. If you use honey BBQ sauce can you omit the honey? We don’t have regular BBQ sauce.

  7. I added a little bit of pickle juice and it definitely kicked it up some 🙂

  8. If I made a large batch of this sauce, how long do you think it will last refrigerated?

    1. It’s not my recipe, but I would think since all those ingredients last a while in the refrigerator, you could probably keep it for quite a while.

    2. I recently made a large batch myself, it started noticeably started going bad after 2 weeks
