How to make Chip Dip with Sour Cream

To make chip dip from scratch is so simple. This recipe uses all pantry spices making it easy for any time of year!

Step 1: Add the sour cream, garlic powder, minced onion, dill weed, chives, parsley flakes, and salt to a large bowl.

Step 2: Stir the dip well to combine. Place the dip back into the sour cream container, and cover with the lid. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

This dip is good for 5 – 7 days in the fridge. If it lasts that long! I find it disappears very quickly in my house. It’s great for a late night snack once the kids are in bed!

Easy Chip Dip

This easy potato chip dip is the perfect appetizer! Simple and delicious sour cream dip recipe.

Total: 5 minutes
Servings: 16 servings

Ingredients 

  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon dill weed
  • 2 teaspoons freeze dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  • Add the sour cream, garlic powder, minced onion, dill weed, chives, parsley, and salt to a bowl, and mix well to combine.
  • For easy storage, place the chip dip back into the 16 oz sour cream container with the lid.
  • Chill before serving
  • Serve chip dip with chips, crackers, and veggies of choice

  2. I used 1 tbsp dried onion and 1 tsp onion powder and 1 tbsp garlic powder…no dill weed so I used 2 tsp pickling spice…now it tastes right.

  3. I was a little skeptical because it uses only dried spices instead of fresh. I had to substitute onion powder for the minced type. Turned out delicious with my ruffled chips.
