The air fryer is one of my favorite appliances, but especially when it comes to making crispy tender vegetables in a fraction of the time it would take in the oven.

I have used it for a variety of vegetables including air fryer cauliflower, air fryer sliced mushrooms, air fryer portobello whole mushrooms, and air fryer broccoli.

Brussels sprouts are delicious when cooked correctly, but it is so important to get the texture right.

These air fried brussels sprouts are crispy on the edges tender on the inside, and covered in melted cheese making them completely irresistible.

These were so good in fact that both of my picky eater children tried one and asked for more!

How to air fry brussels sprouts

Step 1: Cut the ends of the brussels sprouts and remove any outer discolored or shriveled leaves. Cut each brussel in half and place in a bowl.

Step 2: Add 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese, the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the brussels sprouts and toss to combine.

Place the brussels sprouts into the air fryer basket.

Step 3: Turn the air fryer to 400 degrees for 7-10 minutes, checking to toss every two minutes, until they start to get crispy on the edges.

After the 10 minutes, toss the last time and sprinkle on the remaining ½ cup of fresh grated parmesan cheese over the top of the brussels sprouts. Do not stir, we want that cheese to be all melted and delicious!

Step 4: Turn the air fryer down to 375 degrees and air fry for 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is all melted over the brussels sprouts and the edges are golden brown on the edges.

Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Brussels sprouts have a natural slight bitterness to them, so I have learned that parmesan cheese is the perfect way to really bring out all the flavors and make brussels sprouts taste incredible.

Trust me on this, one bite of cheesy crispy edged brussels sprouts and you will be in heaven!
