These Air Fryer Mushrooms make a delicious easy side dish recipe. Juicy mushrooms are cooked in the air fryer in minutes!
These air fryer mushrooms are the best mushrooms I have ever eaten in my life! They are juicy with crispy edges, cook in just 15 minutes or less, and taste absolutely incredible.
The air fryer is one of those appliances that has genuinely surprised and delighted me how much I use and love it.
I am always thinking up new ways to make recipes in it. These air fried mushrooms are bursting with flavor and so delectable you will want to eat the whole batch yourself, I can promise you that!
These were fantastic and so easy! I usually over or undercook them on the stove, but your air fryer instructions were spot on. Thank you! -Katie
You can find the full recipe and instructions at the bottom of this post, but here’s what you need to make it.
Ingredients you will need
- Mushrooms: baby bella or white buttom
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Worcestershire sauce: vegetarian or regular
- Salt
How to make air fryer mushrooms
Step 1: Start by washing and drying the baby bella mushrooms. It’s important to dry them well to get as much moisture off as possible.
Step 2: Cut each mushroom in half. For larger mushrooms, you can cut them into fourths. We just want them all to be around the same size so that they cook evenly.
Step 3: Next, toss the mushrooms with all of the seasonings that will make them taste delicious! Give them a stir until they are all coated.
Step 4: Place the mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket. For this recipe, I used a 6 quart air fryer, so if you are using a smaller one you will need to work in batches.

Step 5: Turn the air fryer to 400 degrees and cook the mushrooms for 10 minutes. Give them a good shake and stir around the mushrooms so that all sides can get nice and done.
Cook for up to another 5 minutes, until browned on all sides. Be sure to note that every air fryer cooks differently, so keep an eye on these towards the end to avoid burning!
Serve with dinner as a side dish, or simply eat them right out of the air fryer. My husband and I ate the entire batch ourselves and oh my goodness I have never tasted such delicious mushrooms.

Tips For Success
- Cut into similar sizes: This will allow all of the mushrooms to cook evenly and get those delicious crispy edges!
- Watch the time: Different air fryers may cook hotter, be sure to keep an eye on your mushrooms towards the end of cook time to avoid burning them.
- Serve immediately: These mushrooms taste best fresh and will taste better when eaten right away. They’re so yummy I’m sure you won’t even have leftovers!
They were perfectly cooked, juicy, crisped edges, and not watery at all. You simply must try these, I am sure they will be a new family favorite!
Air Fryer Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 16 oz baby bella mushrooms, washed and dried
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 Tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, or any Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry the baby bella mushrooms
- Cut each mushroom in half, or into quarters for very large ones. You want the mushroom pieces to all be around the same size for even cooking.
- Place the cut mushrooms into a bowl and toss them with the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce and salt
- Place the mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer
- Air fry the mushrooms at 400 degrees for 10 – 15 minutes, checking to shake at least twice. I cooked mine for 10 minutes, shook and stirred, then cooked an additional 5 minutes until crisped on the edges
- Serve immediately
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this recipe turned out, because the last time I tried cooking mushrooms in my air fryer, I ended up with half an inch of water in the bottom of the basket and soggy mushrooms on top of the grate, and I had to finish cooking those in a frying pan. I’m not sure what I did wrong previously, but following this recipe, I got nice, thin, chewy, tasty mushroom slices with a lovely crisp around the edges. I substituted minced onion and garlic for the powders, and General Tso sauce for the Worcestershire Sauce and salt.
These were fantastic and so easy! I usually over or undercook them on the stove, but your air fryer instructions were spot on. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed the recipe! ๐
Needed a quick recipe to use up some white button mushrooms a few days ago, and found yours. Absolutely great! I did modify it slightly so that I could cook it with a chicken breast (380f instead of 400f, and a few more minutes). But, it turned out pretty well. I’ll definitely make it again.
So glad you enjoyed the recipe!
So delicious! I bought a huge container of marked down mushrooms at my grocer and needed to cook them all at once, so this was perfect. I literally just threw them in a bowl and ate them straight, but my husband was stealing some to throw in a sandwich he was eating at the time. These would make for a perfect vegan philly cheese steak sandwich, or in a ton of recipes as a meat replacement. Way easier than trying to perfectly caramelize mushrooms in the pan, just season and throw them in the air fryer. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed the recipe!

Air fried mushrooms yummy.

Love it! Would just omit the salt as the Worcester sauce adds enough on its own
@Debbie, I didn’t have Worcester so I used Frank’s Red Hot.
