How to make brownies from cake mix

Step 1: Add the chocolate fudge cake mix, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips to a large bowl. Use a rubber spatula or spoon to mix the batter until it is completely combined.

For this recipe, I used Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge, but any chocolate cake mix will work.

Step 2: Spray an 8 X 8 baking dish with cooking spray, then add the brownie batter in.

Smush it down into the edges, and flatten out any lumps.

Step 3: Bake the brownies at 350 degrees until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, around 20 – 25 minutes!

Allow them to cool completely before cutting for easiest results. If you’re like me, this is pretty much impossible!

  1. 4 stars
same amount of ingredients as if brownie box.
8×8 is offered as well as 9×13..
I used 9×13 cuz I’d rather have a thinner brownie.
also used butter and coconut oil instead of oo.

  2. Is the recommended temperature for a standard conventional oven or a convection oven? if not for convection, would 325ยฐ be an adequate adjustment?

  4. Oh dear I only have a 9×13 glass pan ๐Ÿ™ I so wanted to try this recipe. I wonder if I used the glass pan, and reduced the cooking time if they would just be thinner and maybe even crunchy on the edges (which I love!) I mean it is only a few fairy inexpensive ingredients if it is a fail right?!?

    1. It will affect the cook time and thickness of the brownies so you would need to experiment with it.
