Chick fil a sauce is delicious on burgers, with fries, chicken nuggets, and more. It’s so easy to make yourself at home so that you never be without your favorite dip again! This copycat recipe that tastes just like it.
The full recipe and instructions can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here are the ingredients that you will need.
Ingredient Notes
- mayo: regular mayonnaise
- bbq sauce: regular bbq sauce, not spicy
- mustard: plain mustard
- honey: just a little bit to sweeten
Recipe Tip
I have found that using a whisk results in the perfect creaminess and lets the mayo combine completely into the sauce. Sometimes a spoon won’t be able to mix it quite as well. Just whisk together the mayo, mustard, bbq sauce, and honey in a bowl and serve!
It’s really that easy. No fancy ingredients. Probably all stuff that you already have on hand!
What to serve it with
- chicken nuggets or plant based nuggets
- Air Fryer Tofu Nuggets
- waffle fries
- Air Fryer Frozen French Fries
- Chickpea Nuggets
I’m a vegetarian, so we had ours with store bought vegetarian chicken nuggets and a bag of waffle fries. Whatever your style, this sauce is perfect for enjoying Chick fil a from the comfort of your kitchen!

Could this sauce be used as a dressing for a toss salad or corn salad?
I added a little white pepper and a dash of cumin then let it meld together for a couple of days. Perfection!!
Perfect copycat recipe. Tastes just like it.
Real mayo or miracle whip?
@Amanda, Real mayo. Miracle whip is disgusting. Lol
@Rayna,
Is noooooooot!!!! LMAO
it’s a salad dressing which is why people hate it. Only should be used in salads like egg salad. Mmmm.
So good! I added vinegar, paprika, and lemon juice as well.
This is SO yummy! I am from the US, but live in the UK where there is no Chick Fil A or even (good) honey mustard. This is a fabulous, easy replacement. Thank you!
What barbecue sauce do you recommend?
original flavor bbq sauce
Wonder if u are able to can this recipe? Water bath canning.
Solid recipe! I add the tiniest bit more honey and bbq sauce, plus a splash of vinegar and a pinch of paprika. The vinegar and paprika are on the actual list ingredient list and I’ve found that it really does bring this sauce as close as possible to the real thing. Loved it. Thanks!
@Katie, thanks for your comment! The bit of vinegar and paprika complete it!
@Katie, the vinegar and paprika really helped to complete this sauce! (I used 1/16 teaspoon of Paprika and 1/2 teaspoon of white vinegar)
@Katie, how much vinegar??
I luv this same so much. I decided to bake some boneless skinless chicken breast and use this sauce instead of bbq sauce. It came out fantastically! I had it over some herbed angel hair pasta with steamed broccoli. My family went crazy for it. Thanks for sharing this recipe. It was easy to made and absolutely delicious.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe Marcia!
