The best green beans

These parmesan roasted green beans are so delicious that I could eat the whole pan myself!

Fresh green beans are tossed with crunchy panko breadcrumbs, oil, parmesan, and spices, then roasted to golden brown crunchy perfection.

I am not kidding when I say that my kids will fight for seconds of these! They are so delicious, have the best texture, and are so flavorful.

How to make parmesan roasted green beans

Step 1: Toss the green beans with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and olive oil. Place them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet in an even layer.

Step 2: Roast the green beans at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until tender and crispy on the edges.

Can I use frozen green beans?

I do not recommend using frozen green beans for this recipe. They release more water, and would result in a different cook time and texture. Here is my recipe for roasted frozen green beans!

Tips for success

  • Don’t skip the breadcrumbs: these add such a delicious extra crunch and flavor to these green beans.
  • Don’t overcrowd the green beans: make sure you use a large enough sheet that the green beans can roast in a single layer. This makes sure they roast and get crispy, instead of steam in the oven.
  • Make clean up easy: use parchment paper over your baking sheet to make clean up a breeze!

Storing and reheating

  • Storing: Store leftover green beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Reheating: While you can microwave these beans, the texture will be best if you reheat them in the oven until heated through.
