This strawberry banana smoothie is so easy to make!

With just 3 ingredients and a blender, you can make this at home in just 5 minutes. Kids and adults alike will love this smoothie recipe!

Strawberry and banana is such a classic favorite flavor combination, just like the favorite peanut butter banana smoothie.

It’s one of my favorite smoothies to drink and always hits the spot. Perfect for a mid day snack or to cool off in the hot summer months.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

  • Frozen strawberries: do not use fresh strawberries
  • Frozen bananas: adds that super creamy texture to the smoothie
  • Milk: any variety

How to make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Step 1: add your milk of choice to the bottom of a high speed blender. Adding the milk first to the blender will help it blend easier.

You will need a high powered blender to make this recipe, as it is quite thick and a normal blender would most likely not be able to handle it.

Step 2: Add your frozen strawberries and bananas over the milk, and blend it all up!

This strawberry banana smoothie is super thick, so you might need to stop blending and use a spoon to mix it all around. Be patient, it will blend!

I gladly take a few extra minutes to help the smoothie blend instead of adding more milk. As far as smoothies go, the thicker the better in my opinion!

Tips for Success

  • Add your milk to the blender first: This will help make sure the blender works the best that it can, and has easy access to the liquid of the recipe.
  • Add more milk if necessary: If you do not have a high speed blender, you may need to add more milk to make it not as thick so that the blender can handle mixing the smoothie up.

How to make a Smoothie thicker

  • Use frozen fruit: frozen fruit is key to making a smoothie thicker
  • Use less liquid: Adding too much liquid can make your smoothie watery. Start with less and add more if necessary.
  • Use a high-speed blender: a high speed blender is important for getting a thick smoothie texture. Its sharp blades can blend frozen fruit without much liquid and turn it into a thick and creamy smoothie.

  • Soy milk
  • Whole milk
  • 2% milk
  • Skim milk
  • Coconut milk
  • Oat milk
  • Almond Milk
  • Cashew Milk

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

By: Joy Shull
Easy and delicious homemade strawberry banana smoothie recipe with just 3 ingredients.
Prep: 2 minutes
Total: 2 minutes
Servings: 3 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen banana chunks
  • 1 cup milk of choice, see notes

Instructions

  • Add the milk to the bottom of your high speed blender
  • Add strawberries and frozen bananas on top of the milk
  • Blend on high speed until smooth, scraping down the edges if necessary

Notes

You will need a high speed blender for this recipe (I love my blendtec). Because this smoothie is so thick, it likely will not blend in a regular blender. If needed, add more milk to help the smoothie blend.

  1. Your recipe looks delicious! I make a similar smoothie with a hand blender. It takes quicker but gives the same thick texture. I microwave the strawberries for thirty seconds and add a fresh banana. The banana gives it a fresher, fruitier taste, frozen bananas taste sweeter. It goes into a 32 oz soup container and hand blended for a minute. Even easier!
